Picard accepts and together theyā€™re able to save billions of lives in the galaxy. Even the Borg donā€™t know who is behind the conduit with their 400-year jump start, but they are willing to monitor and study it as new provisional members of the Federation.

The beginning of Season 3 ā€¦ bueller, bueller, ahem we going to do anything with that gigantic plot hole lingering on horizon. Instead lets watch a shaky Picard and busted knees Riker try and aim a blaster while they venture outside of Starfleet space to find Dr. Crusher.

I thought it was just OK, it was the first episode and they are trying to setup the season but they definately need to do better to start pulling in these story threads.
