Dwarven Mountains

In the Library found in the Mountain were we got the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords, which we also blew a big chuck out of because of a very offending door. We found a series of books/records that showed trade routes and locations of other Dwarven Mountains in this world. Can you (when you get a chance), post a few details about those locations, and Dwarf Mountains (or former if they are still inhabited)?

Heads up…to give people time to noodle over this
Tangentially related to the above topic, i’ve been mulling over the direction i would like to take Rorek’s character, and i have decided to move toward Legendary Commander/Leadership build, i’ve checked and have the pre-Epic, and Epic Feat slots to support it. Which means Rorek will be looking to establish a Mountainous location, that balances a number of factors like accessible manacite plus necessary metallic and gem related veins, not so far off a trade route no caravan will visit, very defendable, a abundant water source for brewing beer from, and a location that will be remote, or overlooked enough to buy the new Mountainous Citadel long enough to establish a foot hold before the Laputan’s come a knocking.
I don’t think at least initially Rorek will bring the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords into play, until after he has established a firm foothold. At some point in the future, he does plan on taking up the Axe to solidify his position amongst the Dwarves of the world (obviously expecting several challengers)
This brings me to another bit of business, it hasn’t been lost on Rorek that he has a bit of a Public Relations problem, as his name and his story has been associated with the antics of the God-King Dregnoth (an Alchemist), and Ceasar his Priest being a Slaad! I’m quite sure when Rorek gathers his followers that will become a problem. I thought about instead of distancing myself from The Penetrators, maybe leaning into the stories, i would prefer my followers to be Dwarves, after all it will be a Mountain Citadel, with Rorek as the Legendary Leader. He is just not so sure what will come with given his current exploits, let alone what his Cohort will be, given the active group association.
I think that is it for now, more to follow.

This is all I have in my notes about the dwarven mountains. Aside from whatever was mention in game, thatI hope I wrote down someplace.
There are 5 ancient dwarven mountains known to exist on the planet. The oldest of them is where the party located the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords. Only that one is empty/abandoned. The other four are all still active, the second is on the far southern end of the Western continent, past V`Ral. The third is in the island nation where Dregnoth messed with their garbage disposal system. The fourth is located in the center of the southern half of the eastern continent. The fifth is in the farthest north of the eastern continent.
There are many smaller dwarven enclaves in various mountains around the planet, but these five are the most ancient and well known. I’ll have to go back to my game notes from when you found the library to see if I already named any of these, but knowing me, we can assume I did not. All five of the ancient cities have dedicated mining tunnels for manacite that go back many thousands of years. Well four of them still do, we all know what happened to one of them.
The destroyed mountain was the oldest of them all, with the other four all being similarly aged as they were founded by the descendants of the original owner of the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords. The Axe was originally forged by him <yes, need name> after the discovery of the purest manacite vein ever found by any of the then clan chiefs of the fledgling dwarven city. The next couple hundred years saw the city grow into the largest trade center on the planet at the time. As few the city, so did the King’s family. Unlike most dwarven families, the king and queen had many children, even two sets of twins. As age finally conviced the king to step down, a grand tournament was held to choose his successor. It lasted two years and more beer was consumed than any human could contemplate exists. Eventually the King’s second son was crowned as his successor.
A couple of decades later, some of the remaining siblings set forth on expeditions to found enclaves of their own. Four of these proved successful in finding large deposits of various minerals as well as various amounts of manacite. Global trade routes were established between all five mountains and, after a few centuries, each of these cities had become large powers in their own right.
This was all approximately 20,000 years prior to the current era. Over that time, the dwarves have mastered the mining and re-forming of manacite veins as I’ve described in the past. The mountains have been hit by various disasters and blessings over the millennia. None of the are current in a “golden age” state of being, but neither are any of them in a poor state of being. The island mountain and the mountain in the center of the eastern continent are the most open traders right now. The mountain on the northern end of the eastern continent is a trading center, as any large mining city has to be, but it is not politically powerful or weak in the area. It is a self autonomous city state as is much of the eastern continent.
Approximately 20,000 years ago, as the Laputan Empire was really starting to consolidate power in the northern half of the continent, their need for manacite grew with them. Eventually this led them to conflict with the original dwarven mountain as it was closest to the center of the fledgling Laputan empire. After nearly a millennia of on and off fighting, the dwarves were on the verge of defeat and decided to seal one conceal their mountain to prevent the Laputans from gaining access to their resources. With the help of their gods and the large deposits of manacite, various enchantments were laid to seal and obscure all the entrances to the mountain. After that point all contact was lost with the foremost dwarven mountain kingdom and no one knows what happened to them., until it exploded 20,000 years later.
The dwarven mountain on the southern tip of the Laputan continent is an active member of the Laputan empire. By the time the Laputan empire expanded its reach to the far south, approximately 15,000 years ago there was no denying the strength of the Empire. The dwarves had been supplying most of the manacite the empire used and the trade deals and relationship depends until the dwarven mountain was simply absorbed/incorporated as a essential part of the Laputan empire.

Well, it looks like we will need to liberate the southern most Mountain from the Laputan Empire, I have a plan brewing but it will distinctly involve being executed by the pale light of the new Dregnoth “Full Moon”. Releasing an Army of Alchemically mutated lycanthropes upon the Empire.

It has been happy productive member of the Laputan empire for 15,000 years… I don’t know so much about liberate.

We may have to bring in the big guns, have Varalla call in a marker, and have the Triplets fire up the out of time brewery and have there Brewing Clan of Dwarves operating in the out of time Brewery (who knows how many generations have been brewing in there by now) build a limited edition feature batch of Jamos.
If that doesn’t curl their beards, and shake them into Dwarven independence, we have Marchella sweet talk the Argopolis Beer Dwarf, the seventh brewer of the seventh brewer, some say his Brewing Family Lineage goes as far back as the first dwarf. Marchella could have him pull from his own personal super super secret stash, and not the one Rolex and Damien raid (and Damar), that’s a one of many decoy stashes that the Beer Dwarf has had to establish over the years, otherwise he wouldn’t ever get any of his own good stock.
If neither of those options work, then those Dwarves I’m afraid are lost to this world.
