The Red Axe the Protectors have, being a divine weapon are there limitations to the number or types of magic weapons that can be merged into them or the number of properties they can adopt.

Mechanically can a Red Axe be considered a blunt weapon and have a blunt weapon property, but still be an axe? Without just shifting into a blunt weapon.

I assume it can’t be both a exotic one-handler and a finesse weapon at the same time.

Was just trying to get my head around the configurability of the red axe…so i may optimize around it. Tweaking all the dimensions of attributes, enchantments, crit ranges, and modifiers, qualifiers, and anything else i can sqeek by with. Which may include how they may work with buff spells as well. So yeah Dwarf wielding a Red Axe under a dwarven exotic weapon proficiency and a finesse weapon property then maybe he can get both str and dex modifiers to damage. Besides its my understanding Church of Roland has gotten much more progressive these days with their daughters and protectors…hell i even heard they let a half ogre/ half dwarf in. Just one example of many, testing the limits of the Red Axe configurability.

both the red armor and red weapons work basically the same way - they start out as simple +1 plate mail and axe, tho the weapon is changeable to any melee type (as some grunts prefer swords and whatnot). Erok, of course, had a shovel.

the red metal can be “upgraded” indefinitely - by simply merging whatever weapon/armor into the red item, like pushing together two balls of mud. the red metal takes on the BETTER properties of whatever it melds with - so pushing Chainmail +1 would net you all of jack shit, but meshing it with Infernal Chainmail +2 would upgrade its plus AND give it fire resistance (for example).

this is why the 'ole Son of Arg was running around with the ridiculous
“Ornate Red Resisting Dwarven Admantium Spiked Black Battleogre Full Plate of Absorption +4” back in the day 😜

So if I merge a scythe +1, and a scimitar +1 into the red axe the Protectors Axe will inherit the x4 crit multiplier of the scythe, and the 18-20 threat range of the scimitar?

              Inquiring Optimizer want to know.

no, it’d still have the crit range/multiplier of the axe, because it’s an axe and not a scythe or scimitar.
but if you merged, say a Mercurial Scimitar (+1 crit multiplier) and a Serrated Scythe (+1 crit range) then it’d become a Mercurial Serrated Axe +1…
