Daerma 3.5 Reboot

A few things…what level are we starting at? I know we discussed this but couldn’t remember what level triple-class, dual-class, and single-class character options start at for the Daerma 3.5 Reboot.

welp, ole Erok is a triple class Fighter/Mage/Psion at 18/18/18… about 8100 xp away from hitting 19/19/19. he’s currently got around 500k in gold…
so what 'da misty one wants to figure for duallies and monoclass is up 'ta him

The Fallen Legion Campaign was 18 or 19 for triple class people when the online game went on pause because I had kids. I did GenCon 2 times after that. I had Dave create Boo as a single class 30th level because that matched the XP totals of a triple class 18. With two GenCon games, I doubt it went a lot farther. Because we let powermaster epic prestige kick in at that point, I doubt it level more than 1 or 2 times

Doing some drinking and conversing with @dwarf has pulled some dim threads of Fallen Legion custom rules.
Because I threw out Class level (more or less) when it came to multiclass characters, that affected how prestige classes worked.
What I ruled was that if the minimum level to get Sword Dancer (random name no clue) was BAB +6 thus fighter level 6, you would require equivalent experience for level 6 to 7 (6,000xp) to take Sword Dancer 1. Then you would have to track that requirement separately going forward. If you raised fighter level to 10, then wanted to get Sword Dancer 2, you would still need the same as level 7 to 8 to get sword Dancer 2.
If you did not take Sword Dancer 1 until you were a 10th level fighter, you still only needed the XP for level 6 to 7 to get Sword Dancer 1.
If you were a Rogue and wanted Sword Dancer, then whatever level gets a Rogue a BAB of +6 would be the point to calculate what you needed for Sword Dancer 1 then 2 then 3. For. Rogue, that is level 8. So you would need XP for level 8 to 9 (8,000xp) to get Sword Dancer 1.
Basically, not being the “optimal” base class means all progression of the prestige class is harder from an XP perspective. This also makes sense from an in world perspective to me.

What I am not clear on is what a prestige class with a requirement of multiple classes would need. This never came up in game.
Should it need the equivalent XP of all three classes moving up? I’m on the fence on this one.
For normal Prestige classes, I want to fall on the base logic from my prior. The easy example here is Eldritch Knight (EK) as it requires martial weapon proficiency (Fighter 1) and ability to cast 3rd level arcane spells (5th level wizard).
To me this means to get EK1, you need fighter 1 to 2 XP (1,000xp) and Wizard 5 to 6 XP (5,000xp) for a total of 6,000xp to get EK 1. then continue on for EK 2 needing 2,000+6,000 = 8,000XP.
This makes leveling this type of prestige class more expensive than core 3.5, but with the cumulative natural of our 3.5 modded multiclassing, I do not find this horribly unfair.
When it comes to Powermaster and Ancient, I just do not know how to rule it. Dwarf 2e meant you leveled to 19/19/19 there was not a “level” for Powermaster.

18/18/18 is 153,000xp * 3 = 459,000xp
That translates to a 21/21 or 30 just by straight XP.This is why BooJism started at level 30 and leveled up quickly to 31 and then I think 32 by the final GenCon I attended.

Kargin retooled for 3.5 will be a single class 18 (Artificer) / 8 (Ancient).
Rorek will for the most part still be a single-class dwarven fighter and still at 26th level.
