      So in the 3.5 rules many of the spells scale with the caster upto a maximum for example a 3rd level fireball spell scales to 10d6 (maximum), in the olden days i think we didn’t play with those caps. Is that accurate or are we playing that differently?

        We technically opened the spells available to other edition versions, but you had to acquire them.

        That of course became trivial over time, so I just kind of rolled with.

          To circle back to this, basically, you have to abide by the 3.5e rules unless you can give me a good little story or reasson why you have acquired a different version of a spell.

            You mean beyond, i discovered the obelisk had the uncapped version of these spells and i asked the obelisk for copies of them to study?
