Scientists Just Took a Major Step Towards Injecting Eyes With Night Vision

An incredible new nanotechnology could one day enable us to see in the dark. It works on mice, and there’s little to say it wouldn’t be equally effective on other mammals. The only drawback - how are you with needles to the eyeball?

I just know @halfgiant is cringing now.

(( but i feel ya, orc - its VERY tempting, especially as they can fix color blindness the same way, and likely at the same time. predator-style infravision might just be too hard to pass on ))

Yeah eye tattoos are nuts but only cause they are usually done by a guy who the closest he ever got to medical school was watching an episode of MAS*H …

But the night vision eye sight is one step closer to me getting my amphibian like gills …
and then my services go to the highest bidder

dont get your hopes up on that one, greenie… did a lotta looking into and research on that when i was writing Boomstick - common consensus was that for a human to breathe water and get enough oxygen to survive, you’d need gills down most the length of your body and a pair of lungs/water bellows to match.

be more likely they’d invent a technological way to split water molecules (which was how i had the Zarn oxy masks work in the mine, and how most of the alien tech worked)

tho the best “idea” i read about was someone wanted to make basically a wingsuit with gills functionality. thought that one might actually work, if they could get the logistics figured out 🙂
