Interesting, we do need a thief. And i would like to observe a 10E thief in action.
-
As I read more into the 10e thief, I am seeing all kinds of possibilities to pull “sadistic” pranks and serious means to inflict harm upon enemies…
I am liking it more and more as I read into it.

You need to read the lore that has been posted regarding this to get so more of an idea on our thought pattern for this class.
-
Ummmm you have a thief … his name is Cæser … duuu
-
where is the lore? what topic list??
-
If need be and the 10e thief is too unbalanced or unfinished. I have no problem using a normal rogue that’s properly spec’d out.

I need to consolidate all the lore here in the forum…

Awsome back story. Also paints the 10e thief as being somewhat evil orientated, plus if the whole 10e thieves guild are enemies of Viral, then it seems a bad idea to play as one. Or am I wrong?

So if I do setup a 10e thief character, how would the rest of it play out, such as the contacts to create the 10e thief’s unique equipment?
-
you’re overthinking it dude… since 95% of player shopping goes on during downtime, it just “happens” you pay the listed rate, you get the listed item. Cloud doesn’t wanna micromanage our purchases, few sane DMs do - those tend to be the nitpicky clowns that want you to account for every pound of encumberance.
“Your visit to the marketplace to buy fishhooks is unsuccessful… try back again tomorrow !” snort
in your case, your 10e thief would already HAVE established contacts at the level we’re playing at - and could likely acquire anything he needs by visiting one of the various alchemists in any city…
-
Was just wondering.
This is a 10e class and from what I have seen so far, no one is playing one, so I was not sure how that was suppose to work out.
-
there’s a lot of mechanical “game time” that just happens off-camera from training to dining to shopping or attending church services for your deity. kinda like OUR day-to-day grind. nobody wants to hear the details of what i last bought at the grocery store…
as to your earlier question about the thieves guild being evil, its the ASSASSINS guild that are evil - and has a large number of thieves in their number, because assassins have traditionally been a prestige class for thieves.
thieves (which i typically call Sneaky Pants) have always been one of the weaker classes to play, mainly because they were weak in hit points, armor and magic… so in my 10e iteration i tried to turn some of those things on their head. inverting magic so it didn’t work on/for them, bypassing armor with tricks and making it hard to even know where to SWING at them in the first place. even borrowed a little from the old-school ninja
