How many active Forges does V’Ral have operating? What and how many variations are there?

Rorek and Kargin are pondering the construction of their own forge. Doing a little supporting research.

      /bump

Any idea what sort of Magical Forges reside, are or floating around V’Ral?

Back in the day (going back) there were a number of Forges found of all kinds of varieties.

      1. Elemental Fire Forge
      2. Dragon Fire Forge
      3. Demon and Devil Fire Forge
      4. Solar Forge - Solar Dwarves (Krynn/Triplets game)
      5. Volcanic Forge - I think this was Athas if i’m remembering correctly.
      6. Nova Forge
      7. Super Nova Forge
      8. Crystalline Forge
      9. Void Forge
      10. Forge of Eternities (see Lore section)
      11. Forge of Creation (was a warforge thing, don’t recall doing much with it)
      12. Forge of the All Father (Found Moradin’s Forge - Triplet’s Campaign)
      13. Elemental Forge (Found at CabinCon II - ManaVerse)

I don’t remember what it was called (would have to go back thru the triplet notes) but there was a Solar Forge the Sun Dwarves used pre-Ethosian Wars on Krynn.

Don’t remember the exact name but Cynder had built some sort of TechnoForge of some kind the Borg Dwarves use next to their reactor on the Mobelisk Flying Mountain, Triplet’s didn’t understand it, made a few people glow, but didn’t kill anyone so they leave it be.

I thought there was a Mana Forge i want to say, twas something Zap was working

I’m sure there are a few others i have miss placed in my memory file, would have to comb the old gaming files to get them all.

      Magic Forges

Forge of the Armorsmith: This magic forge grants a dwarf who uses it a +20 competence bonus on Craft (armorsmithing) checks made using the forge. In conjunction with voluntarily increasing the DC by 20, a smith working at this forge can craft expensive armor in a dramatically reduced time.

Strong conjuration; CL 18th; Craft Wondrous Item, fabricate, creator must be a dwarf with 20 ranks in Craft (armorsmithing); Price 10,000 gp.

Forge of Sustenance: A dwarf using this forge for any purpose need not eat, sleep, or even breathe while he continues to work at the forge, and he can work indefinitely without tiring. When using the forge to craft an item, the user multiplies his check result by the item’s DC and then by 3 to determine his progress on a weekly (in sp) or daily (in cp) basis.

Strong conjuration; CL 15th; Craft Wondrous Item, create food and water, regenerate, creator must be a dwarf; Price 8,000 gp.

Forge of Thautam: A dwarf using this forge can create magic weapons and armor as if he had the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat.

Strong conjuration; CL 12th; Craft Wondrous Item, permanency, creator must be a dwarf; Price 15,000 gp.

Forge of the Weaponsmith: This magic forge grants a dwarf who uses it a +20 competence bonus on Craft (weaponsmithing) checks made using the forge. In conjunction with voluntarily increasing the DC by 20, a smith working at this forge can craft expensive weapons in a dramatically reduced time.

Strong conjuration; CL 18th; Craft Wondrous Item, fabricate, creator must be a dwarf with 20 ranks in Craft (weaponsmithing); Price 10,000 gp.

Furnace of Flames: This magical forge provides spell prerequisites for a dwarf who uses it to craft magic items. The forge allows its user to create magic items as if he were able to cast any spell with the fire descriptor, using his character level as the caster level. The forge does not replace any other prerequisites or costs, including item creation feats, minimum caster level, and gold and XP costs.

There is a good sized Reorx/Damien forge works in V`Ral. What kind of forges it has? I never wrote anything up.

Beyond that there are probably a few dozen normal forges owned by various smiths.

                      Waraxe, Dwarven

Cost 30 gp Weight 8 lbs.
Damage 1d8 (small), 1d10 (medium) Critical x3 Type slashing
                      Category one-handed Proficiency exotic
                      Weapon Group axes

A dwarven waraxe has a large, ornate head mounted to a thick handle, making it too large to use in one hand without special training.

Due to its size, a dwarven waraxe is an exotic weapon. A Medium character can use a dwarven waraxe two-handed as a martial weapon, or a Large creature can use it one-handed in the same way.

A dwarf treats a dwarven waraxe as a martial weapon even when using it in one hand.

                      Combining Special Weapon Types:
You can combine the forging techniques/affects of masterwork, serrated, and laminated. Treat each special type as its own component that must be crafted separately. Add the extra gold piece cost of each type separately and multiple that by the total number of components.

                      Waraxe, Dwarven: 30gp
                      Masterwork: +300 gp
                      Serrated: +300 gp
                      Laminated Steel: +900 gp
Number of components: 3 (masterwork + serrated + laminated)
                      Cost = (30 + 300 + 300 + 900) * 3 = 4,590 gp

Masterwork, Serrated, Folded Dwarven Waraxe with a hardness of 15, 1d10 +1 to hit (masterwork) and +1 damage (laminated), and a x4 Critical Damage Multiplier (increased from x3 to x4 from Laminated/Folding), and the critical threat range goes from 20 to 19-20 from Serrated.

Finally the weapon undergoes psionic tempering, altering the object’s molecular structure for a superior weapon using Molecular Rearrangement

Final Result is a: Dwarven Waraxe doing 1d10 +2 (to-hit/damage), x4 critical damage Multiplier, with a 19-20 critical threat range for 4,590gp.

                        Honed Weapon

You’ve learned the art of bringing a fine cutting edge to your weapons.

                        Prerequisites: Knowledge (martial) 3 ranks.

Benefit: You can spend ten minutes using a whetstone to sharpen a piercing or slashing weapon or up to 20 pieces of piercing or slashing ammunition to a fine point or edge. The newly-honed weapon gains a +1 bonus on damage rolls for one day. This bonus increases by +1 at character level 4th and at every four levels thereafter. Honing a weapon has no effect on its hardness or hit points, and you may hone both magical and nonmagical weapons. You can only hone manufactured weapons with this feat.

During CabinCon II - Forgotten Mess, Blood War raging beneath V’Ral ( in level 5 i believe) there was a Void Forge, or a Forge of the Void, whatever we choose to call it we gleaned a few bits of information from it.

                          • It is a Immortal Level Forge, capable of creating upto +20 item level enchantments.
                          • Ralax being a Planetar of Istus and a immortal was the only one, among the party, able to use the Forge

We used it to make seemingly basic weapons comparatively since we are saving blood coins, and magic coins.

@dwarf Anything else that we can add?

That unit does not exist in the Manaverse. Just FYI.
