Interesting article, it feels very over thought, and ridiculously complex for recording a characters game progress. I think the author hit the last part of the article on why it will fail very well. Just because you can use Blockchain to solve the problem, doesn’t mean you should…there may be easier, cheaper, and better approaches.

Yup. I’ve been having conversations with a colleague of mine about Crypto and NFTs and what not, and I’m really struggling to see anything positive with the current state of the tech. Not saying blockchain is bad, I use it at work as an immutable audit trail for several apps, but that’s one of the very few usecases that make sense to me.
