It could only be Cloud in Japan
-
After lunch we split up all the kids went off to Ikebukuro to shop. All the adults went separate ways.
Motoko and I eventually ended up in Ikebukuro also for dessert.

Then she wanted to go shopping, saw a police box along the way.

-
Then headed back to the in-law’s

Realized I forgot to buy something to drink and walked to 7-11. It was dead out at 6:30

-
Waited for midnight to hit. My girls did not make it.

Only the adults.

-
Sleeping arrangements while we are here.

-
Killed time being lazy until just afternoon.

-
Motoko’s older brother showed up with his family.

Then we walked to a shrine for new year’s blessings.

-
Prayed and then drew fortunes.
Hanna got a dai-kichi which is the best fortune.

Finally a group photo. We took turns taking so I only have the one I took. No one needs to see more of me anyway.

-
Simple dinner (not pictured) and then a drink and snack while watching some Chinese period drama subtitled in Japanese.

Haine passed out a while back under the table of degeneracy (kotatsu).

-
Looks like a great trip!
-
So January second was another shrine with just the 4 of us. This was a shrine we took Haine to for Shichi-Go-San back when she was 3.

-
After the shrine was food. Hanna wanted okonomiyaki. We found a place that had been open for 153 years. Was great.

-
Friday, the 3rd, was lazy around the house until noon.

Then is was some shopping for a while before conveyor belt sushi with the grandparents.

-
Saturday was again a slow morning. Motoko and I went out to Komeda by ourselves around noon while the girls stayed with the grandparents

Motoko brother came by for a few hours and then we had simple dinner at home that evening.

Before I had something to drink

While everyone else passed out under the kotatsu.
