about doing a Midevil Times / Colonel Goolsby’s run on July 29th / Aug 5th weekends ?? and/or a showme’s run the other weekend ?
those are the weekends that cloud’s wife 'n kids are outta town in Japan, so we were just brainstorming ideas

Major Goolsby’s is 1.5 hours from my house.@dwarf’s idea is you two drive up first thing Saturday, pick me up and we hit Major Goolsby’s then drive back for a Medieval Times show at 7pm. Crash at my place and then you guys head home on Sunday.

Hmm… I like what you’re putting down.
I’m thinking I will travel back on the third day (Monday).
Keep roughly the same plan, but…

Drive up first thing Saturday, pick Jared up and we hit Major Goolsby’s, then drive back for a Medieval Times show at 7pm.

Sunday, we do Part II Return to Goolsby’s, or possibly another noble drinking establishment, drive back before getting to schnockered. And round out the evening on Jareds back patio I so fondly see photos of by the fire.

And Monday morning, we drive back.
I will likely get a hotel room near Jared’s address, nothing against Jared’s house or his hospitality I’m just old and set in my ways.
So Saturday morning, we have a 5-5.30 hour drive to Milwaukee with a short stop over to pickup a Cloud. I will likely want to stop at least once to take a leak and stretch (please reference previous comment on being old) So to get there, we will have to leave early because we will have to depart by 5:30pm to make Medival times by 7:00pm.
Ok, I need to work logistics with the wife; she works that weekend, so I need to figure out what to do with the kids for a few days. My parents will probably take them for a few days.
A few things I will need to sort out with work, but I think I can make this work.

So Saturday morning
I have a spare tollway sensor at my dad’s house that you can pop in the truck on the dashboard for the drive. Sensor is half-price compared to standard toll. Also, no need to remember to go pay online.
It is a +/-4 hour drive from Highland to my house with the cruise control on 80. That counts me stopping once @ Wally’s in Pontiac (exit 197). Coming up on a Saturday will likely add time because of traffic in the construction zones that I never deal with driving in the evenings. Adjust plan accordingly based on your driving speed.
The distance makes it real hard to hit Goolsby’s on Saturday at least enjoyably. But i’m up for it, as I’m not the one getting up early and driving up in the morning for once.
Waze says 4:11 right now to my dad’s.

Highly recommend Wally’s at exit 197 in Pontiac. If you have dirven in the south, it is like a Buc-ee’s

Dunno if you have a preference on chains, but there is a Holiday Inn near to Medieval Times. My place is about 10-15 minutes from everything depending on stoplights

That will be Sunday, so we could do a part II at Goolsby’s or … knock out a day of D&D in the Manaverse, and retire to the back porch for some Japanese food and some Sake.
