    Having successfully defended the Manacite caravan, the party returned to the capital and were reward well. Dregnoth broke out the writ from the dwarven casters telling the kingdom court wizard to spill the beans on the locations of known spheres of annihilation. Two are in Laputan control, one of which is rumored to be part of the power source for their Laputan capital. The second is said to belong to the Laputan wizard’s guild. A third was known to have been around the isles approximately 1000 years ago. No one knows its location now. The fourth is rumored to belong to an arch wizard somewhere on the Eastern continent. After consulting with V`Ral, Rose decided to send an official ambassador to begin negotiations. While waiting for hte ambassador to arrive, the party searched for a location to build a temple to Roland. The ambassador, a Rolandite, arrived the next day along with a guard squad of 4 dwarves and 2 battle ogres. The party then took their leave of the islands by means of asking the obelisk to arrange a teleport. Once back in V`Ral, the party debriefed to Sorvani, Rose and all the casting guilds. Letting everyone know what has been learned about Manacite and the Laputans. After of week of this, the party was visibly read to get out and the locals were more than ready for Dregnoth to move on. A messenger arrived asking that they leave for the NW patrol route where mysterious glowing horses have been reported. The party teleported with the obelisk to the last known location and were confronted by a pair of Nightmares. After defeating these, the party camped for the night. 2000xp per player was awarded.

    By this time the party was entering the foothills of a large mountain range that could be seen far to the south. The party continued tracking the salamanders to the south and encountered and defeated a group of 3 salamanders around midmorning. XP Awarded: 4500 Following the fresher trail, the party found a large river slicing through a large ravine just after mid-day. Inspecting the ravine, they found a two cave entrances on the far side. Zook tried to sneak closer, but ended up having to walk almost 1,000 feet ahead of the party in order to hear anything besides the party. not done with Day 9<

    The day passed without incident with the party continuing to track the salamanders.

    The party set out in the morning attempting to backtrack the salamanders path with no luck. Running out of options, One-Shoe Zook finally managed to work a speak with animals spell and found a talkative squirrel that was able to point the party in the right direction. The party camped for the night with no other encounters.

    After a relaxing night at a bar, the party heads out the next morning. The journey from the city to guard post is uneventful as normal. After eating lunch and tormenting the guards, the party heads out. Just five minutes out, the party is set upon by a large group of salamanders. The party killed al the salamanders and decided to stop for the day back at the guard post. XP Awarded: 9000xp

    The party arrives back in V`Ral around noon and bring the Laputan platform to Sorvani who seems less than thrilled to see them and uninterested in the platform. Sorvani sends them off to the Wizard school with it. After droping off the platform at the school to a crowd of mages most certainly interested in looking at the device, the party heads to the Palace to report and Dregnoth inquired about the availability of a Gem of True Seeing. The party then hits the bar and crashes for the night.

    Continuing to track the Laputans, the party finally encounters 5 of them mid afternoon. After a hard fight that nearly took Zook’s life, the party is successful in killing all of the Laputans and capture a levitating platform from them. Deciding that this must be worth the trip, they figure out a way drag the floating platform back to V`Ral and walk through the night to do so. XP Awarded: 9000

    The day is spent tracking the Laputans without any other encounters. That night, the party is attacked by a Banshee. XP Awarded: 1100

    After heading out the next morning still disturbed by the antics of Dregnoth, the party encounters One-Shoe Zook, a bard from V`Ral, running for his life from Laputans, or so he says. Eventually the party does find signs of Laputan scouts and began tracking them.

    The party is assigned a search arc to the East. The arrived at the half day guard post without incident and decide to continue until dark. Late in the afternoon, they encounter a basilisk and defeat it with little trouble. That night they are set upon by a group of three Ankhegs and defeat them. XP Awarded: 1350

    Varalla announces that her daughter Rose will be taking her place while she goes into deep meditation to contact Roland and bring his powers back to the priestesses. Sorvani will be advising. Additionally she is putting out a call for adventurers to begin concerted scouting missions beyond the half day safe zone that has been established and is now patrolled by the royal guard and the Battle Ogres jointly. The point of said scouting missions is to eventually expand the safe areas as well as find any potential allies. Getting bored of easy missions with the royal guard you all hit up the taverns looking to form an adventuring party to head out. After a couple days of talking to various others, you all form up and head to the palace to register your intent and get an assignment.
