      The move to managanger happened several years later, i think the Powermaster was somewhere in his early 30th level ish when that happened. To my knowledge, there are only two, Malathon, and Daren. Zap hatched the idea for a Managanger some 20 years ago - after reading thru Roland’s notes on the initial process for transforming Daren. So rather than try a potentially destructive process on his oldest friend, Zap used the “first” of my PC dopplers - a mage named Falash (who’s antics inspired Daren to convert races in the first place After many repeated attempts, he finally transformed the doppleganger into a wholly superior being to its original, leapfrogging Greaters (which was one of the goals) and birthed a newborn Malathon - who’d lost ALL of his xp and levels, plus most of his memories. So Zap sent him off to adventure with Kat, his old traveling companion - in the hopes that it’d trigger a resurgence of his memories. Meanwhile, Zap continued work on the process - eventually debugging it to where he was confident he could repeat the process on Daren without the downfalls of converting Malathon. And yes we skipped the Greater Doppelganger stage. we didn’t wanna go kablooey due to that pesky Clockmaker Contingency… ahem

      @dwarf I like it Elminster’s Evidence Capture sounds better than “Elminster’s writ of habeas corpus” But that would simply mean that I will have to use a different weapon or depending on the cost to have said weapon returned have another built for me that records deeds for easier case in court. Of course this means that it ensures my fighter doesn’t go off all willy nilly slaying innocent folks. For my spell above ( and yours too I like it) The gold price can be dropped ( 1000 was just a number I threw out ) you have 1d10 lawyers that appear each 1000 gold would be if all 10 lawyers appeared So it could be 100 x 1D100 meaning you will pay any where from 100 gold to 10,000 gold. ( we can also drop the cost to be a steady number ) You cant rip the top off, and once the spell has been paid for, that wizard can not hit you again for the same spell( or in the case of the weapon the same weapon ) If the saving throw is made then the same things happens ( the lawyers believe it to be frivolous lawsuit) If the wizard is killed there is no case since there is no one to take to trial, However if the Wizard escapes battle then you have the issue of monetary punishment. This does two things It keeps the caster from having to pay if they really dont want to and makes them think about what they are casting until they kill the spell caster who cast the spell on them Can force a payment if they were to cast it on BigOhm ( " Oh Shit I got to save the party …they better pay me back " ) This however does not cause other party members to not be able to cast the spell that was taken away ( The weapon wont matter its in County lock up)

      just found a downslurp of the 5e Spelljammer book… the “terribly offensive” story is : Several hundred years ago, a wizard visited Yazir, the hadozee home world, with a small fleet of spelljamming ships. Under the wizard’s direction, apprentices laid magic traps and captured dozens of hadozees. The wizard fed the captives an experimental elixir that enlarged them and turned them into sapient, bipedal beings. The elixir had the side effect of intensifying the hadozees’ panic response, making them more resilient when harmed. The wizard’s plan was to create an army of enhanced hadozee warriors for sale to the highest bidder. But instead, the wizard’s apprentices grew fond of the hadozees and helped them escape. The apprentices and the hadozees were forced to kill the wizard, after which they fled, taking with them all remaining vials of the wizard’s experimental elixir. With the help of their liberators, the hadozees returned to their home world and used the elixir to create more of their kind. In time, all hadozee newborns came to possess the traits of the enhanced hadozees. Then, centuries ago, hadozees took to the stars, leaving Yazir’s fearsome predators behind. which, to ME sounds like the author was either thinking about the flying attack monkeys in 1939’s Wizard of Oz or something akin to 1968’s Planet of the Apes.       @daermadm Well at the last game, i heard it was a combination of 2e dust of disappearance, and the 9th level spell true cloak. Dust of Disappearance (2e) - This dust looks just like dust of appearance, and it is typically stored in the same manner and quantity. All things touched by it reflect and bend light of all sorts (infrared and ultraviolet included), becoming invisible. Normal sight can’t see dusted creatures or objects, nor can they be detected by any normal detection or even magical means. Even detect invisibility spells don’t work. Dust of appearance, however, does reveal people and objects made invisible by dust of disappearance. Invisibility bestowed by the dust lasts for 2d10 turns (1d10+10 if sprinkled carefully upon an object). Attack while thus invisible is possible, always by surprise if the opponent fails to note the invisible thing and always at an Armor Class 4 better than normal (while invisibility lasts). Unlike the invisibility spell, dust of disappearance remains effective even after an attack is made. True Cloak - 9th level spell, as Arg once described it, is just True Seeing reversed. With a tad of Nondetection sprinkled in: Nondetection (Abjuration) Range: Touch Components: V, S, M Duration: 1 hr./level Casting Time: 3 Area of Effect: 1 creature or item Saving Throw: None By casting this spell, the wizard makes the creature or object touched undetectable by divination spells such as clairaudience, clairvoyance, locate object, ESP, and detect spells. It also prevents location by such magical items as crystal balls and ESP medallions. It does not affect the know alignment spell or the ability of intelligent or high-level beings to detect invisible creatures. If a divination is attempted, the nondetection caster must roll a saving throw vs. spell. If this is successful, the divination fails. The material component of the spell is a pinch of diamond dust worth 300 gp. Anything else sprinkled in?

      There is more or less nothing that is bad. . Some of it feels like it needs tweaking, but without game play testing I don’t know what that is. Sadly I do not have enough spare time to work out permutations of the abilities on top of trying to update monsters for the campaign.
