    After defeating the Goblin Champions, the party continued into the large cavern coming to a large 80’ diameter vertical shaft (not a volcano!!). Immeral, Gruzar, and Ceasar waited on the ledge while Dregnoth and Onaga flew up and found that it curved as it went, eventually losing sight of the party. Kargin and Rorek flew down and Kargin spotted some runes glowing faintly on one side of the shaft, jsut opposite and above another tunnel leading off the shaft. Flying too close to the runes, many of them explodes in various spell effects. Undaunted, Kargin and Rorek continued to descend setting off even more, stronger effects. … Quick notes to form into story: Frog dropped a frog, Dregs dispelled, dragon attacked, frog fastballed Immeral, rorek waited for Kargin to lock down the dragon before failing to kill it, immeral finished it off. An hour later, Dregs and Gruzar were halfway done removing the runes when suddenly the remaining runes all went off at once. The last to go was a MD. The party was awarded 2100XP each

    The morning after collecting and toasting glowing purple shrooms, Dregnoth recalls the need to find a location to plant an Obelisk seed. He heads to the mine offices and pulls out a disco ball of charm and gets all of the information the miners know about the layout of the mine. But it is clearly not very detailed. The V`Ral ambassador, takes Dregnoth to the dwarven king to discuss the Obelisk seed location. As much because it will help V`Ral as to get Dregnoth away from him. Eventually, Dregnoth determines the best location for the Obelisk seed and has Obelisk V transport the seed. He spends the rest of the day feeding it gems. Kargin goes and makes a deal with the Dwarven forge masters to create gear for them with his crafting hummonculi. The rest of the party spends the day recuperating from the previous night’s excesses. The next morning Kargin suddenly says I’ve received guidance from Damar on the whereabouts of the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords. I must spend some time refining the location well enough to teleport. While Kargin is otherwise occupied, the rest of the party head out to the Eastern dwarven port city to get drunk and discover rumors. They learn about an island, a day to the north, that they have failed to start a mining colony on multiple times. The party finds this interesting and heads off while Kargin prays and begins to scry. Eventually the party confronts a Balor that Rorek drives back to the planes. The party was awarded 1600 XP each.

    An Alchemist, a Battleogre, and a Blue Frog walk into a dwarven tavern to have a drinking contest. The battleogre orders a keg of dwarf spirits and chugs it all, before loosing a mighty belch that scorches the eyes and nose of everyone present. The slaad orders his to go, and EATS the barrel - chewing up the wood like its a bag o’ pork rinds. The alchemist sneers and hooks his barrel up to a piece of troll intestine and green dragon fang, mainlining it into his neck. Unable to hang with the 3 bizarre outsiders, the most muscular dwarven miner challenges the 3 to a suicide mission into the mountain’s disposal site. Laughing to themselves, the polluted adventurers smirk and go stumbling off to the caves. Soon the sound of shrieking fungi and roars of battle echo across the city - rousing the mine foreman. Rushing to the tavern for backup, he finds out his number one worker has stupidly sent drunken high-level adventurers on a quest to destroy one of the assets that keeps the underground city VIABLE and bitchslaps the fool across the room. Dashing full out into his quaking mines, he skids to a stop as a massive green lightning bolt sears across the chamber - lighting up every tunnel into the chamber for hundreds of feet with an acidic arc-lamp, and flash-frying 4 of the massive and slow-moving ultraviolet fungi that the fighters are murdering gleefully. “STOOOOPPPP !!!” the foreman howls with all his being - drawing the attention of the besotted trio. “C’mon - you 'kin kill one too ! We’ll save one for ya…” offers the giant blue frog, as the alchemist breaks out his Wand of Buttery Goodness. Waving his arms in the classic time-out gesture, he defers - commanding “Your quest is over ! We need a few to survive - now go the fuck home !!” The two warriors look up at the crazed, flying alchemist - getting a nod before the post-combat high-fives and butt-wiggling dance. “WE WIN !! TIME FOR FRIED MUSHROOMS !!” they cheer before collecting giant dead spores and heading back to town for some yums. Leaving the mine foreman to clean up the mess. “Fucking adventurers…” he mutters with a sigh, shaking his head and grabbing a mop - whilst thinking up dire punishments for the drunken miner who started this whole fiasco. Thus endeth the game…

    After a 6 month break to train and gear up the party is getting restless (aka Kargin needs more money to make gear). So they head over to the dwarven mountain on the island previously visited. Drinking at the bar, one of the mine managers tells them they been having a problem in chamber 546, but don’t know what as no one has returned. The party goes down and finds 2 Meriliths and 4 Hezrou. They kill some and force the rest ot flee. They are awarded 11,200 XP each.

    Following direction from the stone tell, the party went down the southeast guard tower to the lower level where the beholder “generals” were. Opening the door, they were great by a room about 30’ across with a floor 150’ down, curving inward the entire time. Obviously this room follows the lower half of the sphere room that the Sphere of Annihilation was traversing. The inner walls are covered in script. The script/runes seem to be glowing and fading for reasons the party has no time to investigate as they also see a number of huge beholders. Battle ensues and the party eventually manages to kill the two closest to the door they opened.

    The party continued to loot/explore the B1 level of the dome. After a while the casters noticed that one of the teleportation chambers was activating. Kargin stood at the ready and flat incinerated the beholders as they teleported in. The party continued searching and cleaned out a few more rooms and then were attacked from in front and behind by a massive force of beholder guards. Fighters all charged to one group and mutilated them. the other group was ambushed by Kargin with an over powered acidic fireball. The party was awarded 7000xp each. They ransacked the rest of B1 and then used stone tell to talk to the stones and fing out where the Generals were ont he B2 level.

    The party continued their exloration of the Temple sphere with the Dregnoth clone. Dregnoth tells them he has to go meet Behayla and get his gear back, and then deal with the mother beholder. The party goes back down to the first floor and Dregnoths wanders around the hallway looking for Behayla. Finding her, he gets his gear back and teaches her how to open the doors. Then heads back to the party after she goes up a guard tower. The party finds a door with a passage heading down and takes it to a new level with better rooms. Raiding these rooms the party finds a good amount of treasure, but few beholders. One door was trapped with a Prismatic Spray that everyone resisted except Immeral, who was sent to another plane. THey also find a number of large empty rooms glowing of magic but ignore them after they cannot easily figure out what they are. Evenutally the party opens one of the big rooms to fina a large party of beholders floating there. Kargin unloads two wands of maximized fireball into the room which triggers some mechanism and the room teleports all the beholders somewhere else. The party was awarded 2000 XP each.

    The party decided to dimension door into a guard tower surprising 4 beholder guards. They handily destroy them and then float up through the floors to the 4th floor where they found runs marking an exit. They decide to ignore it and continue up to to the top of the tower. Reaching the 7th floor, they find no more passages up and have Ceasar Slaad bust through the wall. The party head southwest and then into the south tunnel heading to the inner ring. The inner ring is covered in antimagic. After the party wanders around a full circle, they have Ceasar Slaad break a hole from the southwest. The part tosses a continual light bullet in and it does light up. and fall for quite a distance before wining out as it seemed to go towards the middle. Onaga flies in and scouts the chamber finding the party seems to be near the top of the dome. He casts arcane sight and sees a column of nothignness in the center of the space. he brings in a continual light bullet and attempts to stick it into the column. He drops the continual light bullet in the anti-magic column it drops straight out of vision without ever lighting up. Climbing down over 300’ the wall begins to curve inward. Eventually the party climbs to the bottom. They do a little testing with a 10’ pole and eventually it is severed. Kargin notices that the sphere seems to be moving up and downthe center core of the space and send a message back to the Obelisk in V`Ral to let Sorvani know they found the Sphere of Annihilation. The obelisk takes the call and force connects the call to Sorvani while he is in the gods’ room under V`Ral. Downloading all the information over the telephathinc link, Sorvani and gods (Roland, Torm, Mystra, & Damien/Reorx) force transport and geas the “sane” Dregnoth to gain control of the Sphere and bring it back to V`ral. Game will resume with the party determining how to kill the mother beholder and escape before BehAyla finds the mother beholder. herself.

    its never come up in game (oddly), but powermaster fate points are fairly localized - affecting things that’ve happened in the powermasters vicinity (generally within a mile radius of the powermaster himself) - and, for the record, mortal-level fate points (like all mortal level magics) are resistable by the semidivine and largely ignorable by the fully divine. which is why things like the obelisk (semidivine) can withstand most anything a mortal caster (or even ancient) throws at him. he can choose NOT to resist it (for things that aid him, obviously) but even mighty 200th lvl TRUE spells are more likely to be eaten, then stored away for his own use later on… so Daren walking up and hitting the crystal with a 200th lvl True Power Word Kill would just earn him an amused smirk and/or saucy “Mmmm… tasty. Gimme another !” whilst a 200th lvl True Shatter would earn him an annoyed glare, shortly before getting smacked with a semidivine Implosion in return… (much like what happened when The Forsaken came after Obelisk Prime with crystalline kyuss worms… and why Dregnoth won’t even WHISPER the name Kyuss inside of V’ral…ahem)

    The party leaves the what they learned was basically a pantry of prisoners for the main dome. Immediately after entering they are attacked by 4 beholder guards using murder holes in the ceiling. Kargin dispatches 2 of them with his Magic Missile Chain Gun (Rod of Many Wands with 3x Magic Missile wands) One charms Gruzar while Dregnoth attempts to violate the fourth one. Onaga chased the 3rd one into a room that also had another guard. That guard fled while Onaga killed the one that charmed Gruzar. Immeral mauled the one trying to escape Dregnoth and Rorek finished it off. After Dregnoth collected the corpses, the party began opening the doors on the inner wall. The first three were empty, though the first was obviously in use by an acolyte. The fourth room was occupied by an acolyte. Dregnoth hit it with a Eldritch Spear and then Rorek performed a critically successful leaping charge and turned it into goo. The players were awarded 800XP each and found 1797 gp 5 sp 7 cp

    and used the disco-beholder ball of paralysis to subdue the fraidy-dwarves so Immeral could sneak us over to kidnap the guard - whereupon we retreated back underground to the tunnelz with our sedated captive being prepped for an alchemical brain dump… which is where cloud called it for the nite as we were about to run into some more yummy beholders on our way to a hidey hole

    The party explores the tunnels some more and encounters beholders that somehow use anti magic ey through the walls. The beholders flee as the party closes and the as the aprty eventually continues down the tunnels they are again accosted by these beholder. The party eventually surfaces and then mauls a single sleepign beholder and uses his house as a base to scry. The players are awared 400XP each

    The party went down into the tunnels to see where everyone is always coming from. They encountered the Mythal guard trying to ambush them and multilated him. Continuing to the SE, they passed a few more intersections befor being force to choose left or right. They went left (Northeast) and found the tunnel ending in another shaft up to the surface. Dregnoth went up and wiped out the guards in the guard room with some magnified magics. The party acquired 350PP and 100GP in cash and gems. That party aquired 1516 XP each. Moving SE they search a building that is obviously occupied by a beholder priest that is not home. The party raids the place and finds 400PP, 2000 Gp Wand of Detect Magic Wand of Ray of Enfeeblement Wand of Cure Light Wounds

    The party came up with a strategy to cross the mythal and the guard beholder called for help. The reinforcements cmae and a battle ensued. The party earn 2100XP each and found 64 pp, 401 gp, 100 sp.

    The party devised a strategy to try and topple the building. While casting magic, to do so, the beholders in the tower were alerted to their presence and a fight ensued. The party killed 8 beholders.
