Ok. This was more or less what I thought you meant, but wanted to be clear.

I will think on the pre-requisites.

Per the original post here, it becomes a spell-like ability.

in 2e, base beholders had a fly speed of 3(B) - which was good maneouverability at 30’ round… as you might imagine, i based all of my monster designs on 2e 🙂

in play, i always figured that given a beholder’s natural buoyancy and nonmagical levitation, any other magical movement effect would be ADDITIVE to their natural movement rate - so, for example, they could get a little speed bump to 40’ round using their telekinesis beam as a bonus thruster…

as stated in the original 10e post, lens powers alter or modify the output of a Rod/Staff/Wand - adding things like Holy (energy substitution), boost it with Enlarge or Extend, Splitting ray efx, even adding Focus or Penetration to the energy released. these tend to operate on the lower-end of the metamagic + scale, so GENERALLY SPEAKING most of the +0, +1 and +2 level metamagic fcheats are lens effects.

amplifiers tend to wind up being in the +3 or higher metamagic fcheats, and actually PUSH more juice thru the wand - so things like Twinning the output (and yes, you could Twin a Split Ray to get a pseudo double-twin effect, but it only works with rays (as far as i’ve seen)) or Widening the blast radius, Chaining it to hit others, Admixing in extra juice or Quickening it so you can cast a spell AND shoot a wand in the same round…

(( and in your example, as Twin and Maximize are both amplifier effects, a typical wand only takes one amp - so you’d have to upsize to a rod or staff if you wanted BOTH to work and generate your twinned maximized fireball ))

lenses and amplifiers are interchangeable between wands, staffs and rods - the core “tech” inside those items are effectively identical, being just large preprogrammed spell batteries.

@halfgiant if putting them together like you are talking about still only let’s them be wands and shooting only one per round, no, that is not an artifact.

I was assuming that by jacking in a wand of fire and a wand of lightning you were thinking to Have a rod that casts some amalgamation fireball lightning bolt with a single charge from a rod cube that would be an artifact class combination.

Minor artifact, but artifact. Mostly because of the free form spell combine functionality.

So… Now for the next obvious question.

Is Diniscus (not sure if that spelling is correct) open for business in the Manaverse?

      No.

Still cost a wish to summon the door?

      If it was here? Yes.

      @halfgiant said in V'Ral Forges:

During CabinCon II - Forgotten Mess, Blood War raging beneath V’Ral ( in level 5 i believe) there was a Void Forge, or a Forge of the Void, whatever we choose to call it we gleaned a few bits of information from it.

It is a Immortal Level Forge, capable of creating upto +20 item level enchantments. Ralax being a Planetar of Istus and a immortal was the only one, among the party, able to use the Forge

We used it to make seemingly basic weapons comparatively since we are saving blood coins, and magic coins.

@dwarf Anything else that we can add?

That unit does not exist in the Manaverse. Just FYI.

@dwarf I believe that is correct, its your effective cast level, but i don’t think it gives you access to spells beyond what your natural level for that class is.
So it should increase the damage of a spell d6 per level sort of thing, it should make the DC saves against it more difficult, etc…
      Nice little feat.

So having talked about the thiefs ability to focus his anti magic at runes would they then be able to drop in behinde a magic user in stealth and focus his energy towards them ?
Could this ability possiabley be a learned ability with level ? And whats the deal with stoneskins we ever get that worked out amd set in stone ??

And his true wish ability at will ( maybe you were not drunk enough for me to pull that one off yet 😆 )
